Journal your Art CJ

This is my final page for the Circle Journal I have been doing over the past 9 months on UK Scrappers.
It is Juliwan's page and her theme was 'Love.' I have used two of my favourite Stampotique stamps and different paint techniques to produce the page. The writing is a quote by William Shakespeare and reads "Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind."

I am now looking forward to my circle journal returning home to me.
Thanks for looking.

Journal your Art CJ

Luckily I had done this Journal Your Art CJ entry before the Olympics started! Today was posting day so I am popping the page on my blog.
This page has been done for Lynne (UKS MrsMcF). Lynne asked us to do a self portrait in any way we wanted to, therefore, I have used a Suzi Blu & Unity stamp, the quote around the image captures me but maybe the body and face is stretching the truth a bit! LOL
I sketched a background masking off a border to act as a frame on the page.
I then used my Pitt pen to draw in the lines and Inktense blocks to colour the background.
The stamped image was coloured using water colour paints and gel pens.
I used leaf metal flakes around the frame and on the tiny heart in the left hand corner of the stamped image. Once I had placed the image in the centre of the page I wrote a little about myself in some of the blank areas.
I then carefully removed the masking tape and drew around the inner edge of the frame with a Pitt pen.
This is the penultimate page for this CJ, I hope Lynne likes it.
Thanks for looking.

Journal your Art CJ

It has been rather a busy few weeks but here is my latest contribution to the Journal your art circle journal. This page is for Meggie, her theme is Steampunk Alice. I have used a technique for the background from an online class I am doing with Andy Skinner. I will post my book on here when it is finished! Thanks for looking.

Journal your Art CJ

Here are the latest pages I have done for the Journal your Art CJ over on UKS.

Mistyrat had chosen 'Time' as her theme, I have used the quote from the Paper Arsty set of stamps Clock 5 as my inspiration for these pages.

Sewing a fine red netting over the base page using metallic threads and using a cog made from shrink plastic and the Tim Holtz mover and shapers gears die. I also used the mover and shapes mini sewing room die to cut out the mini dress form

Journal your Art CJ

This a my double page journal pages for Vicki's "open the page" CJ.
We had to open the page of the book we were reading at the time of receiving the CJ and choose a sentence from the page a create using it.
I have been reading 'One Day' by David Nicholls and this sentence leapt off the page at me:

UKS Art journey Step 17

This week Sarah's tutorial on using and making stencils for our pages gave me the opportunity to use one of the stencils from a book I have by Ed Roth.
It was a little on the big side for the page but it gave me the opportunity to play with doodles and fit some journalling as well. The stars around the edge were made by using a cappuccino stencil!

Thanks for looking.

UKS Art journey Step 16

For step 16 Vicki gave us a great tutorial on hiding your journalling or at least making it less obvious on the page.

Words

These are my pages Ali's ( UKS Alipeeps ) Journal your art CJ.

Words was the theme and Ali asked us to use our favourite song, saying, poem etc.
I have used Vicki's tutorial for the UKS Art journey step eleven to inspire me, it was to include texture onto our pages.

I used my new toy to print the quote!
Thanks for looking.

Journal your Art CJ

This is my entry for Gill's ( UKS Wisher) Circle Journal. She asked us to use positivity as a theme and leave space for her own journalling. I thought this phrase I found on one of the Tim Holtz stamps I have was appropriate. The doodled flowers were also stamped using Felicity's Collection Ooodles of Doodles 1.
I hope she likes it!

Circle Journal updates

I have just started a new Journal your Art Circle Journal on UK scrappers.
There are 8 of us in the group and we have each chosen a theme for our CJ.
My theme is 'Serendipity'.
Serendipity means 'happy accident' or pleasant surprise, finding something good without looking for it! My art journalling is all about Happy accidents!!!
To make the journal I took out the pages form a Children's encyclopedia and replaced them with blank Bristol board pages. I have done an introduction page but forgot to take a photo!

I used lots of paints, inks, sprays and stamps for my inner lining pages then stitched the Bristol board in place.

My page for my journal.
Here is my latest page Artistic License Circle journal page.
It is for Frances's CJ. she gave us all art board to work on.
She chose a painting by Paul Klee, she divided into 9 sections and asked the group to do one section each using what ever medium we wished.
I have used Golden artist light moulding paste and shaped and scraped the design into it.
Then I used my acrylic paints and sprays to colour the surface.

All the other boards made so far are very different and fit together so well, I am sure the finished journal will look amazing.
