Artistic License Circle Journal

My Vasarely Artistic license CJ came home this week and is now assembled and sitting on my craft room windowsill.
It started its journey last August and has had a great selection of pages added to it.

My interpretation of Vasarely's 'Kiruna'.

Lou's (UKS lou@papermaker) page is from 'Planetary Folklore Participation#1' and has been done as an interactive piece where the top pieces can be moved around.

Leanne (UKS Leanie) used Op'Art en noir et blanc for her interpretation and obviously used her maths to great effect when working out the logistics of this page.

Jeannette (UKS nettyb) based her page on 'The Zebras', a great take on the original.

Frances (UKS newtothis) used her amazing digital skills for this version of 'Gestolt'

Sarah (UKS Flo) did an incredible job hand cutting these figures for her take on 'Catch'.

Irene (UKS irboo) lived up to her reputation of using gold and bling for her gorgeous page using the painting 'Etude en Multicolour' as her inspiration.

Helen (UKS Tigs) used Vasarely's use of colour and shapes for her interpretation for this page and came up with her a brilliant page.

Thank you to all the Artistic license participants for giving me a lovely Circle journal that I will enjoy for a long time to come.

Jigsaw swap and retreat.

Last year I took part in a jigsaw swap and some of my teamies on UKS thought it would be a good idea if we did a jigsaw swap of our own. We had the swap ready to do at our team retreat in March. Lynne found us the jigsaws on her trip to Canada and posted them out to us. Kay made sure that we all knew what we were doing also making sure we knew which side of the puzzle to use and which way up too! Kay produced a really great grid for us all to follow when the day of the big swap came!

Alli found us a great property for our long weekend.

In fact we are going back there again in October and plan to do a Christmas bunting swap.

We have been chatting together online since 2008, when we all did a photo a day and were the 365 group. More info about that project can be found on my other blog. We have since become really great friends who enjoy meeting up when ever we can and are now known as The Crumblies!!!!

Trendy Tag Swap

This is my tag for the March Trendy tag swap on UKS.
The theme for the swap was Chevrons.
I made the chevron pattern onto the tag by cutting strips of corrugated cardboard and gluing them in a chevron pattern then I painted and inked over them. I was still not sure how I was going to finish off the tag but once I had painted it I thought it looked like a garden fence. I added the central chevron strip kindly donated by Kay and then the other embellishments.

I made 3 tags for the swap, I hope the people who receive them enjoy them.

Words

These are my pages Ali's ( UKS Alipeeps ) Journal your art CJ.

Words was the theme and Ali asked us to use our favourite song, saying, poem etc.

I have used Vicki's tutorial for the UKS Art journey step eleven to inspire me, it was to include texture onto our pages.

I used my new toy to print the quote!

Madonians CJ that is not a CJ!

Just another leisurely little CJ that is not a CJ. We are not posting a journal around to each other for this CJ but every month posting a page direct to the person who is on a list. I did cheat a bit here, as I was posting Lou her completed Artistic License CJ I thought I would do her requested page VERY early! Lou's criterea was "silhouettes and songs", her thinking is to pick a song title or words from a song for inspiration and create a page around that, with silhouette(s) being the main design feature. As I was doing the numbers tutorial for my Art Journey journal I thought I would do Lou's page on a similar theme. The song I chose was Adele's 'First Love.'
Here are some stages to the completed page..... I got so carried away doing it there are not many photos! LOL

Artistic License Circle Journal

This is the final page for the Atistic License CJ. The months seem to have whizzed by and the journal posting ran on time and everyone has been doing some amazing work. I am really looking forward to getting my journal back very soon.

This is a page I did for Lou (UKS lou@papermaker ). She asked us to use the artist Nikki Monaghan as our inspiration. WOW she does some great work. I used the painting 'Trees on a Blue day,' I just love the colour range she achieved.
